This Summer's Uniform

Happy Wine Wednesday beautiful people!!

We are getting right into it cause I feel like my last post was super lonnnngggggg {now that I mention it, check out my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks}...

As of lately, I feel like I have gotten A BUNCH of texts and DMs from friends, god-sisters {lol hey Mags}, and just interested followers on where I find my "super cute bikinis" SOOOOO I've decided to put together a whole selection of kinis that I am obsessing over {based on current trends too} as well as a lil guide at the bottom on where you can find some more.

To say the very least, now that I am back on that "funemployment grind," I have been averaging two days at the beach per week {sometimes more if I'm lucky}. There just something about the beach that puts me in a completely different headspace, a good mood, and makes me feel so dang relaxed. Not to mention, the cold ocean water has A LOT of benefits {and also manages to help clear my skin} but maybe I'll chat about those benefits some other time.

Now -- The reason I am labeling swimwear as "This Summer's Uniform" is simple. We are still quarantined and not required to go into offices {at least not in LA}, we still don't have to put bras on {I don't even wear one to the market cause I have my huge glasses and face mask that hide my identity}, and working from home can mean you can work from anywhere basically {hopefully you have a hotspot}. I personally don't have a pool and our community pool is closed which is why I've resorted to the beach {I'm not complaining, just explaining} but I am able to get work done: read to further my brain's capacity, apply to jobs on my phone, catch up on emails, etc.

Below you will find an organized selection of all sorts of bikinis and one pieces. I literally went through TONS of sites and handpicked my favs and I'm sharing them with y'all to make shopping for swimmies as easy as possible. Did I mention this is a click to shop post?! Also because I scavenged the internet, everything ranges in price to match everybody's budget {yes, I agree that some things below are overpriced BUT I just thought they were too cute to not include}.

TIE DYE:

I truly feel like tie dye got SOOOOO big during quarantine {does that make me a trendsetter for doing it all last year?!}, and with that I have seen TONS of tie dye bikinis on the market. Anyone else remember when crochet was the "it" bikini to have? Yeah, I'm not going to lie I did get my hands on a few of those BUT I think tie dye took their place this year.

ANIMAL PRINT:

Does animal print ever really go out of style?! Last year, I don't know if y'all remember {heck knows I don't even really remember lol}, but I had a jungle themed birthday and I had all my girlfriends wear animal print and wigs. Basically, I have ALWAYS been an animal print gal SOOOOO this season I have been getting my hands on TONS of animal print bikinis of all prints, colors, styles, etc.

NEON:

Say hello to the illusion of a lifetime!! If y'all haven't figured out by now, neon colors make your skin look tanner {you're welcome} and when we feel and look tanner, I don't know if it's just me but I feel way more confident in my skin. I feel like my cellulite isn't as noticeable, I feel like it makes my eyes pop a lil more, I get some freckles on my nose {which I think are freakin cute and I'm always jealous of people who have more prominent frecks}, and I just think it makes people look slimmer. ALSO, I am so OBSESSED with a neon pink polka dot bikini I bought myself at the beginning of quarantine that I currently have the blue and purple in my shopping cart now.

FLORAL:

I am honestly so stinkin happy that florals are in this season. I know a lot of people think that some floral things can look so juvenile, but I just think it's so fun and girly. Not to mention, Dippin Daisy's sent me this adorable one piece and I swear I have been in love with it since the moment I unboxed it.

LITTLE BLACK BIKINI:

I swear, black is the absolutely STAPLE of all staples... We all have our go-to LBD {little black dress}, so why shouldn't we have our go-to little black bikini?!

RUFFLES:

Honestly, I am so happy ruffles are back too!! Again, I think people overlooked the power of a ruffle and thought they were "a lil too juvenile" but growing up my mama would always tell me how flattering they are and how every woman should wear ruffles {I hate to admit it, but I think moms are always right... don't tell mine I said that}. Whether you want to accentuate your breasts or your booty, anything is possible with ruffles {during quarantine I bought three pairs of ruffle bottoms... oops}.

SWIMWEAR SHOPPING GUIDE:

DIPPIN DAISY'S: I have been working with them for over a year and I can confidently say that their swimwear is adorable, amazing quality, and affordable {I wear a size L in one pieces and bottoms and then a M in the tops}.

FRANKIE'S BIKINIS: Personally I think everything is sooooo overpriced, but I know Francesca from growing up in the same neighborhood so I support her business and her hustle and will treat myself to one of her suits every so often {I wear a size M in her one pieces}.

BEACH RIOT: I can't say I've bought any straight from Beach Riot BUT I am obsessed with their styles, designs, and. colors used in all of their swimwear and I know the quality is really nice {again, a lil too expensive for me but quality over quantity babyyyy}.

TARGET: Honetly, Target has a pretty bomb swimwear selection and A LOT of them are copies of well-known brands like Frankies, Boys & Arrows, Summersault, Becca, etc. I haven't bought any from Target recently, but heck knows I stocked up on cheapy kinis in the years prior.

FREE PEOPLE: I bought my FAVORITE pair of Mara Hoffman bikini bottoms {size M} from FP. They have a great selection of different brands and styles; however, they do run on the more expensive side}

ZAFUL: That's where I have gotten the majority of my kinis this season cause I'm #broke. Honestly, I was worried the first time I placed my order because a set is $18 or less total {for a bikini top AND bottom} so I wasn't sure about the quality. I started buy purchasing 5 kinis and then ultimately bought 19 bikinis the week after I received my first order {I wear a size L but different styles fit differently and Zaful doesn't accept returns}.

xoxo V

PS: I PROMISE i haven't forgotten about the guy's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks... I just REALLY wanted to share a post that was dedicated to ALL swimwear cause if you haven't realized by now, I'M OBSESSED
