I have SOOOO much to share with you guys!!
First off, I went to California for a week and it was such a nice break from Texas. Although I literally took NO pictures when I was home and my mama made sure I was always busy and doing something, I’ll be sure to post to my travel blog about my time later tonight!!
HOWEVER — Like I promised {via insta g} I will start just by sharing some of the things I got during the Sephora sale because I know some of y’all are interested in makeup and beauty.
I don’t know about y’all BUT for me, if I walk into Sephora with the intentions of buying nothing, I ALWAYS walk out with enough to stock a store of my own… I literally buy things I already have, things I don’t need, things that just look pretty, etc… You get the picture.
First I’ll just start with some of the things I ordered because that’s what you guys asked for BUT I’ll follow up with some things I usually get {or have gotten talked into and now LOVE}.
MY ROUGE ORDER {I SAVED 20% ON EVERYTHING}
PS: If you wanna be redirected immediately to the product, just click the pic!!
Honestly, I have never used this BUT one of my best friends {shoutout Sarah Ishikawa} introduced me to a beauty vlogger: Stephanie Ledda. Talk about a beautiful person, so if she recommended the purchase via social media, then I just HAD to get it… right?!
Anyways, as bad as it is to admit {because I know I am still young and should be getting sleep} I ALWAYS have dark circles under my eyes. I typically rely on some essential oil by K Pure and my Nars concealer {which I’ll share with y’all if you keep scrolling} to hide them BUT I figured why not try something new. If you keep up with my via insta g, I’ll be sure to give you my 112% honest opinion on how it works out for me!!
So, usually I use a Clinique foundation {which I also will share with you guys if you keep reading} but I decided to BALL OUT and buy Dior because 20% off… Although, I don’t really know my color, I figured I would just go ahead and buy it cause I could always exchange it considering I live like five minutes from a Sephora.
I LITERALLY SWEAR BY THIS PRODUCT!! I have been using it since the first time I visited DryBar!! It smells like heaven and it really works. I have naturally super silky and straight hair so usually my hair doesn’t hold curls // beachy waves without some sort of hairspray. I now rely solely on this spray and it is the one thing that is under my counter that I always manage to fully use up. Also, it doesn’t leave your hair crunchy which is always a good thing.
I truly think my mama got me these as a gift once just because they looked cute and were in the section of Sephora that when you’re waiting in line, it gives you something to look at BUT they actually work!!
I actually used a few on my face last night because travel, lack of sleep, and crappy food {I treated myself to In-N-Out at 1am because my flight got in around midnight} all cause me to break out.
What you do is put the dots on your face where you have pimples and they literally bring the gross juice stuff to the top for you to pop in the morning. You can even see that it works because you’re placing {basically} a clear circle sticker on your face, and where you have a breakout, the sticker will have a white dot in the morning.
So — Another product that I have never used BUT I heard about a setting powder through a beauty vlogger and although I didn’t want to try the brand she had said, I have used Laura Mercier on my face.
I have to be VERY careful about what I put on my face because my skin is EXTREMELY sensitive and so many things make my face breakout. Kinda a blessing but a curse because it keeps me from wearing any makeup a lot of the time {I usually just rely on my lash extensions}.
This is another product I swear by {thanks to my mama lol}. I will be honest in saying I used to absolutely HATE lip gloss. My hair always gets stuck in it and that just bugs me too freakin much because then I’m having to pull it off and then my hair is sticky and blah blah blah.
This however, is a gloss that my mama hooked me on. It gives a cool feeling to your lips as though your lips are enlarged and ready to smooch… I just don’t recommend you wearing it with your hair down on a windy day.
Whenever I wear it though, I always have people asking me if I have gotten my lips injected. The answer is NOPE!! I have only been under a knife for my two hip surgeries and then I had gum surgery. I can NEVER have enough Buxom lip plumping glosses stocked up in my bag, backpack, or bathroom.
SOME SEPHORA FAVORITES:
If you have circles under your eyes the I swear this works like a charm. From doing emails, going to class, running errands, nannying, applying for new jobs, and blogging through the day and into the night just to wake up early again, I rely on this concealer.
As I said before, I have SUPER sensitive skin and I actually didn’t start using foundation until I was in Europe {except for dance performances of course}. One of my best friends from back home {shoutout Nicolette Blatt} introduced me to foundation in high school and WOW did it make me feel 10000000000000 times better. It truly made me feel flawless because it’s able to hide ALL of my blemishes and Clinique is so gentle on the skin!!
I recently switched from Neutrogena face scrub to this face scrub and the price difference {although I know is dramatic} is SOOOO worth it!! The exfoliants in the scrub are so subtle but it feels like a deep clean and I can see on my hands the color of foundation, which obviously means it’s doing its job of cleansing my face BUT it has also helped maintain my breakouts.
Although these are not the brushes I have, whenever I am in the store I am ALWAYS drawn to Tarte brushes.
I have the original brushes which are just plain, but I use them for my foundation, eyeshadow {when I go out}, and highlighter AND THEN I also treated myself to the limited edition mermaid collection brushes with provided me with bigger brushes for bronzer {and now my setting powder}.
THIS I am OBSESSED with!! My Euro travel buddy and BFF {shoutout Megan Zanette} introduced me to highlighter when we went to New York last year and MY OH MY has it changed my life. I also really like the Anastasia highlighter palette because it provides me with a variety of shades.
It started with just a swipe on my cheek bones and a boop on my nose BUT NOW I have started using it just above my upper lip {ever so slightly though} to really accentuate my lips and make them look bigger and around my inner eye to widen my eyes and make them pop as well {learned that trick from a makeup artist at one of my shoots about a month ago}.
I started using bronzer about two months ago when I went to Sephora to get a new Clinique shade of foundation because I was tanning a lot during the beginning of summer on the weekends and I was going on a date and wanted my face to look perfect.
I not only got talked into getting more foundation BUT the makeup specialist made me try bronzer and it made me look EVEN TANNER which made my eyes pop EVEN MORE!! Now, if I go out at night or if I’m going to a nicer dinner or happy hour with the girls, I will use this; however, now that I am back to my pale skin {and it’s currently gloomy in Fort Worth} I think I have to go back to Sephora and get a little lighter shade of bronzer {or start getting spray tans again}.
Enjoy doing some online or in-store damage the next time you’re at Sephora {lol}!!
Be sure to check in on Friday for some hair care tips because… I’M GETTING BALAYAGE!!
I am COMPLETELY clueless about hair color care because my mama NEVER let me dye my hair BUT now that I have made my own money, I am taking the leap and I am ready for change. So with that, I am going to be interrogating my hair stylist on what hair products to use and how to maintain healthy hair and whatnot!! If you have anything else you would like me to ask him, MESSAGE ME!!
