Why You Need a Facial Steamer

So basically I was going to do a post all about shoes because I have been lucky enough to partner with a company that has such a big range of them {and I was going to give y'all a discount code} BUTTTTT that's going to have to wait until next week {probably Monday} because I got SOOOOO many DMs on insta-g about all my facial steaming posts.

I ordered THE CUTEST freakin facial steamer off of Amazon not too long ago and my obsession with it is SO FREAKIN real.

I have literally used it every day... Except last night because I got my lashes done {and boy do they look amaze} and I didn't want them to melt off my face. And by melt off my face, I mean I just didn't want the steamer to detach the glue from my lashes {especially considering a ton came off during my spray tan last night cause the eye protectors are stickers so they just stuck to my lashes and I had to pull... rip}.

Lashes are besides the point though {at least in this blog}.

I am here to tell you all the reasons you NEEEEEEEEEEEED to get a facial steamer. Join the facial steaming cult. Become obsessed.

I literally sent the link to my exact facial steamer out {maybe} six times yesterday!! {also yes, I researched before I purchased}.

Sooooo -- Let's get to it!!

WHY YOU SHOULD FACIAL STEAM:

BLOOD CIRCULATION: Steam increases perspiration which dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation. This increases the oxygen your face receives and gives you a natural glow.

HYDRATION: Helps increase {natural} oil production

CLEANSES YOUR PORES: Opens up your pores and releases any build up of gunk {dirt or bad oil} and ultimately softens up blackheads making them easier to remove. {I personally think I'm going to invest in this blackhead vacuum to use post steaming}

COLLAGEN & ELASTIN: The increased blood flow promotes collagen and elastin which results in firmer skin.

SKINCARE ABSORPTION: Steam increases the skin’s permeability, enabling it to better absorb topicals. By penetrating your skin more easily, the skincare product's ingredients will better be able to work and give you better results. We love a more effective skincare routine.

RELEASES TRAPPED SEBUM: Sebum is a naturally occurring oil produced by your sebaceous glands to lubricate your skin and hair. When sebum becomes trapped in a follicle, either because of excessive sebum production or because the follicular opening has become clogged, acne breakouts result.

KILLS BACTERIA: Steam kills bacteria and also releases any nasal congestion. {say goodbye to corona virus lol}

TIPS FOR FACIAL STEAMING:

THINK ABOUT YOUR SKINCARE BEFORE: I plan out my skincare routine based on the time of month {I break out tons when I'm about to get my period} and what is coming up {event wise}. If you follow me on insta-g, you'd know that I started posting my nighttime skincare routines and they vary every night.

DON'T USE IT EVERY NIGHT: Trust me, I know it can be addicting but try to use it four times a week... MAX. Excessive facial steaming may actually leave people with acne proned skin to break out more because the steaming action may actually swell the skin's top layer, which can trap oil, dirt and bacteria in the pores and cause acne postules to form

CLEAN YOUR FACE: You definitely don't want your pores opening up when your face is dirty or else you can cause more breakouts. Depending on my upcoming skincare routine, I either use my favorite exfoliating facial wash OR my more subtle face wash {which I actually need to restock}

OTHER GOOD STEAMERS:

Okie dokieeeeee, well I think that's all for now and hopefully I was able to give y'all a lil more insight into facial steaming. If you become as obsessed as me, feel free to slide in my DMs or tag me in your stories!!

Would you believe me if I told you that I was going out in Santa Monica tonight?!

L O freakin L!!

After a long week of workouts, blogging, family schtuff, and {currently} babysitting, I figured it was time to give myself a lil break and hit the town and be social. Time to stress out over what the heck I'm going to wear tonight {DM me suggestions lol} and think about the din that Sav and I are going to have... I AM READY FOR TEQUILAAAAA BABYYYYY!!

Have a safe weekend and be sure to check in next week because I'm going to share my post about that shoe company.

xoxo V
