Happy freakin hump day to my FAVORITE people of the internet {that's y'all}!!
I am TOTALLY kidding... I started writing this post on Wednesday but I definitely did NOT expect it to take this long to write and edit and whatnot. Also, doing all the online shopping was EXTREMELY time consuming and wowieeeee I just hope y'all take advantage of what I did in this post.
Once again, I have been MIA from blogging but tis the season for Halloween costume stress, upcoming holiday gift giving, temperature changes, etc. Basically with all those changes comes the reappearance of me... HOW EXCITED ARE YOU?!
Let me just start by giving y'all a quick update {and I mean super quick} so you know // have an idea of why I haven't been posting as much. Since I got my real estate license I have been applying to jobs and hoping for some sort of response {so far, no luck}. One of my good friends is actually getting married this weekend {I told y'all in a previous post I was given a plus one} and the guy who agreed to going with me bailed. I had a guy tell me "I love you" last week and then two days later it was released on social media he was sleeping with some other girl {lol}. I was in Joshua Tree for a weekend to help one of my good friends with his upcoming music videos {I'll link it in a post once it's released}.
That's basically a gist of the past two weeks... I promise I'm active again though and I have some exciting things planned for y'all. ON ANOTHER NOTE THOUGH, let me just tell you the general idea of this post...
I know Halloween is coming up. With that, soooo many of my girl friends {who have boyfriends} ask for couples costume ideas and then I have even had a couple of my friends ask me what I'm doing for Halloween {aka: where I'm going and what I'm dressing up as}. To answer the second question, I'm planning on sitting on my lazy butt {probably in a onesie just in case kids stop at my door} and watching movies with my pups. No being social for this girl BUTTTTT for those of you who want to // are planning to be social, I wanted to help y'all with some costume ideas.
Here's the catch though, in college I used my freshman year to dress "slutty" on Halloween because I thought "that's what everybody did" and I never did that in high school. So, I wore a mini tutu, a corset, some thigh high socks, converse {no heels, no thank you}, and I dressed up like Snow White. From that year on, I decided I would rather be warm, and being a "sexy" anything wasn't my thing SOOOO I ended up just wearing oversized Japanese onesies. Also, if you've been to college {or are in college now}, you'd know that you don't only need one costume per year and you definitely do NOT want to wear the same costume more than once that year...
With that, I learned that I didn't want to wear costumes as much as I wanted to be able to purchase something that I could wear for another occasion other than Halloween. I was ballin on a budget!! I wanted to be able to purchase a cute dress that I could wear as "Ana from Frozen" but that I could also wear out at bars or for dinners during another time of year.
THAT BEING SAID -- This post I want to share with you not only is full of ideas BUT everything that I am sharing with y'all is 98% capable of being worn another time // used for another occasion {other than lil prop things that I may link like a tiara... but then again, who said you can only wear a tiara on Halloween?!}. Before I get started with ideas though, I want to let you know that a lot of these ideas I am sharing with y'all may be considered "basic" BUT I am trying to make "basic" be cute {or attractive // hot for the guys}, fashionable, affordable, etc. ALSO, this post is a click to shop post because I want to make it easier for y'all to get to the products and order them ASAP for Halloween {since it's in 12 days}.
GIRL'S COSTUMES:
JUNGLE THEMED
Okay... We ALL know that there is sooooo much animal print on the market right now, so why not utilize your resources?! You literally just would need to get a matching set of ears and then you can EASILY draw on whiskers and a nose {or anything else you need... scales or leopard spots?} with eyeliner.
PRINCESS
Definition of "basic," I freakin know and I don't even feel sorry admitting it because I DID IT my first year of college. It could definitely be cute though and not. as basic as you would expect {obviously depending on what you wear and how you style it} SO I'm here to help.
SCHOOL GIRL {CLUELESS}
In college we had school girl // nerd parties that weren't just for Halloween... like, we were dressing up like that in April and honestly any piece worn as a "nerd" or a "school girl" can be used year round SOOOO use what you have in your closet OR use Halloween as an excuse to add to that cute wardrobe of yours.

Guys, everybody notices that so many of y'all never know what to wear for Halloween so you just dig up that old jersey in the back of your closet and call it a day... Honestly, I'm not complaining though. My high school boyfriend went trick or treating with me my sophomore year and when I dressed up like Risky Business with one of my girlfriends, he looked so HOT in a jersey.

Kinda nerdy but like I'm kinda really into it. By nerdy though I mean obviously only really intelligent people work on things space related and what guy didn't have a dream of going to the moon when they grew up?!

I don't know if I'm feeling nostalgic or what, BUT I just feel like this could be super dang cute... Pebbles and Bambam were definitely my old time favorite duo BUT if you're feeling like they're "too young" or whatever, I guess you could always be Fred and Wilma {lol}.
DEVIL & ANGEL
Best friends dress up like this for Halloween and make it sexy, so why can't a couple?!
SANDY & DANNY
I mean, every year I see TONS of couples do it BUT it's just too hard not to pass up and share with y'all... Plus, Grease is one of THE BEST movies of all time so I feel like this will always be a classic costume for any couple.
KEN & BARBIE
I guess you can say this is the "sexier" version of Sandy and Danny... The one that enables y'all to wear less clothes and // or brighter colors. Talk about the total Southern California beachy and perfect couple...

Ummmmm... If you didn't know by now, country // western look is SOOOO in right now. Literally, think "Stagecoach" but not... Mix Stagecoach vibes with Disney and you've got yourself Jessie and Woody. I know I can't pass up any reason to throw on my cowboy boots {I literally wear them all the time}.
THE INCREDIBLES
I don't know if anybody was obsessed with this movie as I was BUT what's a better excuse to treat yo-self to another pair of leggings that you "needed" them for an outfit... Guys, we know you like wearing leggings too. They're comfy so I can't blame you BUT if you're not feeling the whole "leggings thing," then you can totally just stick to jeans.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD & THE WOLF I can solemnly swear that I have NEVER seen a couple fo this but I feel like it would be so perfect. I have seen girls dress up like lil red {which I think is so cute} but with a guy by their side as the wolf, you can make it either "scary" with bite marks on the girls neck {or maybe that's just vampires} and blood dripping off the side of the guy's lips, you can make it "sexy" by obviously wearing as lil clothing as possible {i.e. red bra and red leggings or booty shorts and the guy shirtless}, and // or you can make it "comfy" and more casual {which would more likely be warmer lol}.
JANE &TARZAN
A total cartoon classic, but make it a couple's costume... Dare I mention that neutrals are what are currently in right now too?! Tarzan and Jane are the ones who originated the neutral tones and made them fashion. Also the dress with the chunky shoes // boots, y'all can thank Jane for that. Guys, this is just another reason to show off that body of yours that we all know you've been working on {don't be shy and pretend you don't know what I'm talking about}.

Do you have a group of girlfriends you want to dress up with this year?! I mean, I know a majority of my girlfriend's are in relationships {or married // getting married soon} BUT it's always nice to have a group of girls to go out with and if they're not looking to dress up with their boyfriend {or "guy they have a thing with"} then why not take advantage of that?!

Okay, this can be a couples costume too BUT I figured I would put it as a group idea because my first year of college I was scrambling with a group of my girlfriends on what to dress up as {like I said, we ended up all being different Disney princesses} and this is pretty dang badass... Honestly, why did I never think of this in college?!
HIPPIES
If you haven't figured it out by now, tie dye is SOOOO in. I am literally finding it in every store window I pass {and in every store I am tempted to walk into}. Talk about an easy costume and one that you can continue to wear because #fashunnn. Honestly, this may be completely "basic" too BUT I just love glitter WAYYYY too much to pass up the opportunity. Also, guys... I don't know if y'all feel like being "silly" or what for Halloween BUT when I went to the Bachelor's Ball this past year, a HUGE group of guys dressed like ballerinas {I'm not even kidding when I tell you that they were wearing leotards, tights, tutus, and ballet slippers} and they were a HIT at the party!! So who knows, maybe you feel like spendin some $$$ on some cheap dresses {or go the Peter Pan route} and go as fairies too.
PIRATES // GYPSIES
Seriously I think this is so easy for guys and girls... Guys can just go shirtless {granted they can do that for the majority of "costumes" and flowy off the shoulder tops are SO in for girls. Put those thigh highs on, stack up all that jewelry, and you are GOOD TO GO BABYYYY!!
PRISONERS // INMATES
When I went to visit my {basically} lil sister {shoutout Ana}, I swear I have NEVER seen so many people dress up like prisoners and // or inmates. I thought it was a fabulous idea as it is so simple and all you have to do {if you wanna look more badass} is add some tattoos or draw up some tears with some eyeliner... Gals, just put your hair in two French braids with a bandana and guys, just wrap a bandana around your head and you're gucci.
RACECAR DRIVERS
I think this is suchhhh a cute idea {for guys and // or girls}. It can be sexy, classy, and cute all in one. Not to mention, I feel like NASCAR and racing has become so much more popular in the past year so it's so easy to get your hands one some racing "swag."
