Happy Friday beautiful people!!
I know it's another last minute post before Saturday BUT you best believe that I am getting it up before the clock strikes twelve... And you know what?! I am talking sports!!
Granted, what I mention in this post you can probably just search on Google and find out for yourself... I'm just trying to make it easier for you...
Also -- Apologies for not posting on Wednesday. I had a bad allergic reaction to a bee sting {and if you wanna know more about why I was a lil MIA, just watch my FMF at the bottom of this post}. HOWEVERRRRR, like this post is titled... I am talking about the few days of the year that baseball fanatics dream about... I am talking about the 2019 All-Star Game {presented by Mastercard if we're going really into detail}.
I know it is quite shocking to some people when they find out I ACTUALLY keep up with some sports... For example, the guy I dated in high school {whom I am still friends with} was shocked when I told him I keep up with hockey and more recently... BASEBALL. I mean, what girl doesn't like a cute guy in those white baseball pants?!
I don't know about you, but that was one of the pluses of dating a guy who played baseball in high school {*wink wink to all my younger gals reading this post*}.
ANYWAYS -- One of the main reasons I am posting about the All-Star Game that is going to be happening in Cleveland this year is because Westlake's {my neighborhood's} very own, Christian Yelich, is a National League starter as an outfielder. Joining Yelich will also be the infamous Cody Bellinger, whom I have also been keeping tabs on this season {thanks to my nana primarily thinking he's cute and because he plays for the Dodgers}.
To see the full roster for the Full American and National League teams, pitchers, starters, and reserves, you can click HERE!! I'll be honest though, the two players I mentioned above {Yelich and Bellinger} are truly the only ones I was interested in; but, to surprise you even more I'll list off the other players I actually know: Clayton Kershaw, Mike Trout, and honestly I think that's it {lol}.
NOW -- For those of you who have been counting down the days for the All-Star Game...
S**t doesn't actually get real {or more like interesting} until Sunday {July 7th}. Unless you're into the welcome party and the concert {shoutout to The Killers which are honestly pretty good live... I saw them at a music festival once}, then baseball bats aren't actually in the picture until the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game {and that I am assuming is around noon-ish PST}.
Sunday is also when the Minor League prospects have the opportunity to show the world what they're made of and they have the chance to compete in a seven-inning contest as part of "MLB All-Star Sunday." But if I'm going to be truthful with y'all right now {and I always share my honest opinions on here}, I'm not interested in the minor league prospects SOOOO Sunday I'll probably watch the Celebrity Softball Game and then say a prayer for all that's going to go down on Monday and Tuesday...
Monday is the day when the "stars" make their grand appearances... I am talking about the Home Run Derby babyyyyy!! This is when all my money {granted I have none BUT if I did have any} is on Christian Yelich... To say the VERY LEAST, he is the first National League player in years {since 2009 to be exact} to hit 30 home runs before the All-Star break... Do I also sense an MVP winner in the near future?!
I mean, you tell me...
NOW -- Fast forward to Tuesday {July 9th}... This is the day all our palms will get real nice and sweaty {or maybe that's just me... I sweat when I get nervous and my face gets flushed}. The 90th annual Midsummer Classic will be held and you best believe that I am going to be tuning in!! The National League All-Star Team will be playing the American League All-Star Team on the Progressive Field {in Cleveland, Ohio} at 4:30 PST.
If you're not in Ohio, I expect you to join me in watching the game on FOX!!
I know I'm going to be nervously sweating, probably sipping on a bottle {not just a glass} of wine, and cuddling with some of the cutest pets around at that time... SO YOU SHOULD TOO!!
P.S. If you just read this {and you personally know me}, are you impressed?! SHOCKERRRRR, I know sports babyyyyy!!
Also -- Since y'all made it through my baseball rambling, I recorded an FMF this week that you may not wanna miss. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians finale was this past week and I wanna know what you thought of it... Kinda confused about Kylie BUTTTTT I mean, who am I to judge {cause, I don't know the whole story}?! Anddddd what is with guys sending texts at 2:00 in the freaking morning?! Don't they know ANYTHING?!?!
Ughhhhh... Watch me dish it out... And while you're at it, you might as well SUBSCRIBE to my channel!!
xoxo V
