Health Trend: Celery Juice

Happy Wednesday everybody!!

Sorry this week has been soooooo hectic so I didn’t have time to post on Monday… If you follow me on insta g, you’d know that I am throwing a lil boho Easter party this weekend and have been getting some goodies from some pretty cool companies {I’ll be sure to do a blog // vlog on it after}!!

ANYWAYS — I have OFFICIALLY given into today’s health craze… CELERY JUICE!!

Honestly though, I’m going to spill the tea with you because I personally hate the taste of celery so I wanna share with you how I am going about drinking celery juice, BUT before I do, I wanna share with you some of the health benefits.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CELERY JUICE:

☆ Helps purify the blood stream // flush toxins out of the system… Hello clear skin!!

☆ Aids with digestion

☆ Rich in vitamins: Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Iron, Magnesium

☆ Etc…

Now — Another thing I had read about the whole celery juice cleanse is to drink a glass of it in the morning before eating. Let me just tell yah though, I work out every morning {except Wednesdays} and I usually don’t eat until I get home. My mornings typically consist of a 1-2.5 hour workout and a large bottle of water so by the time I get back home, I’m starving. Basically, from dinner time until after my workout, I am intermittent fasting {I'll do a blog on this in a couple of weeks too}.

Recently though, I started having the celery juice post workout and it has been doing wonders!! Surprisingly, it has the ability to quench my appetite {perks with Stagecoach coming up} and I am able to not eat anything until between noon and 2 p.m.

All you need for my recipe is four things: organic celery, organic apples, organic lemon, and a juicer.

The reason why I use all organic produce is because of pesticides. Nobody wants to be sippin’ on pesticides and the thinner the outside of a fruit // veggie {hint: there is no “outside” of celery}, the more likely the contamination. Also, be prepared to use LOTS of celery!!

{If you can handle just pure celery, that is what you are supposed to do BUT I’m not one of those people so I add apple and lemon}

By adding lemon and apples, you are adding some sweet and some sour to the celery juice and if you are able to, you can lessen the amount used each time you make your juice. I chose to use organic Pink Lady apples which are known for their health benefits {or at least that is what a nutritionist told my mama}. Pink Ladies are known for the flavonoids which regulate blood pressure and help fight disease. As for lemons, those help with hydration, are a great source of Vitamin C, aid digestions, among other things.

PS: I don’t know if its just me, but my juice tastes a lil salty when I make it {and no I don’t add any salt}

Now -- Like I said earlier, you're going to need LOTS of celery because just for this small amount {which is all I made my first time}, I'm going to share with you my recipe...

RECIPE:

☆ 7 organic celery stocks

☆ 3 organic Pink Lady apples

☆ 3 organic lemons

ENJOY!!

ALSO -- Be sure to check back in on Friday!! I'm going to the Brewers vs Dodgers game BUT I'm going to try my very best to publish another festival style guide before I head out!!

xoxo V
