As I promised on my Instagram post, I am here to share with you my experience of partnering with MY FIRST RESTAURANT!! All I can say is that I definitely left way more full than I had expected and I should have either been rolled out of that restaurant OR been carried out on a dolly or something.
Also -- I totally understand why influencers LOVE their lives. They literally get free food, free trips, free products, etc. It is quiet the lifestyle and I definitely would NOT mind that either {lol}.
Anyhoo, I've had people on insta g ask me how I get to work with companies, so I'll be honest in saying that the way I first started blogging was by reaching out to some companies; however, after doing it a while and posting content, companies are now able to find me and will personally reach out to me. HOW FREAKIN COOL RIGHT?!
My words of wisdom to y'all: chase your damn dreams!! Truly, things are starting to look up even more for my blogging and it gets me so giddy thinking about it... Just ask my mom. I was literally jumping up and down because of some companies I get to work with in the upcoming weeks.
As for working with Islands though, I won't spill the tea on the exact names {for privacy reasons} but the agency that Islands works with reached out to me a couple of months ago. I would say that I was contacted the week of Christmas, which was obviously a SUPER busy time of year, and then in January I was in Texas. Basically it was a lot of on and off communication until about two weeks ago when we finalized the date for me to go to Islands {March 25th}.
When I got there, the manager was waiting for me and my mama and we were told that we could order WHATEVER we wanted on the menu... I'll share the specifics, dontchu worry!!
To say the least though, the service was INCREDIBLE!! We literally told our waiter {Daina} that we were there to shoot some content and we wanted food and drinks that were "pretty to post." We were brought three drinks {not including water}: Diet Coke {my mama's usual}, Big Island Iced Tea {smelled SUPER strong and didn't even get myself to try it}, and Lava Flow {HOLY FRICK IT TASTED LIKE DESSERT}... You can check out the rest of the drink menu HERE though!!
Oh... and that in my other hand... SPINACH DIP!! Something that I technically can't {and I shouldn't even} eat BUT I did it anyways cause I'm rebellious... yah know? And again... NO regrets on ANYTHING I ate on Monday!!
Also if you follow me on insta, I apologize for my excessive story length. And the one video that I thought I was drunk in, I don't think I was actually drunk... I was just hot and lightheaded but the video was pretty funny of my mama fanning me if I do say so myself.
NOW -- Let's get to the goods.
MORE FOOOOOOOD!!
HOW FREAKIN GOOD DOES THAT FOOD LOOK?!
I got the Beach Bowl and my mama got the China Coast Salad and they were as good as they look. Trust me, I ate almost my entire bowl and then I stole some of my mama's salad too {oops sorry mom}.
And don't think we forgot about dessert... We told the waiter we weren't hungry and didn't need it BUTTTTT before we knew it, he was delivering a plate of pure foodgasm. I don't even know the name of it and I usually don't like chocolate {but this may have changed my mind}. It was a plate with a large gooey brownie with four scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel, whip cream, and cherries.
Is your mouth watering yet?!
Does anybody wanna join me for a Lava Flow and that dessert any time soon?! {If your answer is yes, then lmk}
Also before I finish up this post, know the this is a full bar too so in addition to yummy cocktails, you can get all your beer on tap.
Yes -- Those of you who know me {and know my mama}, know that she made me take that photo on the bar.
I hope y'all enjoyed my side of this experience... To be honest, I hadn't been to Islands since maybe elementary school but the food was great, as was the service {also for those of you who think I post just cause I get paid, I never post for products and companies I don't believe in, and Islands actually has no idea I'm posting this}.
So... That's all for now. Thanks for reading!!
I've got to go to bed cause I have training in like 9 hours and I'm currently listening to my mom laugh at Impractical Jokers downstairs. Time to put technology away for the night!!
xoxo V
