HAPPY FRIDAY ERRYBODY!!
We made it to the end of the weekend FINALLY, and I figured I would change it up a lil bit because… well… I don’t think I have talked about sports on my blog in like almost a year. I still think the sports field is underrepresented by women and because one of the industries I’m interested in getting involved in, I figured I would kinda give y’all a cheat sheet for some sports topics. We gotta impress the guys SOMEHOW when were not in a mood to put on pants or makeup. Am I right or am I right?!
Also — Before I get into some sports talk, I want y’all to know that I am NOT a genius in sports… By any means actually {lol}. The sport I love the most is Hockey {going to a Ducks game tonight actually}, I enjoy watching football but I’m still working on learning the terminology for my nana {she gets upset that I ask her what everything means}, and I like watching baseball in person more than on a screen.
With that being said, I know as the year was nearing an end, I know I had mentioned implementing a “Building the Brand” section on my blog; HOWEVER, I think rather than just sticking to interviewing people who have created their own empires, I want to interview and get to know a wide variety of people. I want to be able to talk to people who have built their own businesses, athletes that can help my subscribers // followers {and myself} understand sports more, people who are passionate about their jobs, etc. If there is anybody in particular y’all wanna know more about, slide in my DMs and I’ll try my very best to reach out to them personally.
NOW — For the main part of this post… The sports update.
FOOTBALL:
☆ January 1st there were THREE bowl games: Fiesta Bowl {LSU vs UCF} // Rose Bowl {Ohio State vs Washington} // Sugar Bowl {Texas vs Georgia}
☆ January 7th is the College Football Playoff National Championship {Alabama vs Clemson}: the two winners from the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl {both were December 29th}
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY: a guy’s favorite date of the year {February 3rd} and will be played at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta… I am currently entered in a contest to get two free tickets {lol} so fingers crossed ☆ Wild Card Weekend for the NFL begins tomorrow {January 5th}
☆ The San Diego Fleet is a new football team {charter members of Alliance of American Football} that was recently created… Pretty interesting since the Chargers are now LA based
HOCKEY:
☆ The 2019 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships have been going on for just over a week {in Canada} and end tomorrow… Later today, the United States plays Russia
☆ NHL teams I keep up with: KINGS lost to the Lightning yesterday // BLACKHAWKS lost to the Islanders yesterday // STARS play the Capitals tonight // DUCKS play the Knights tonight
BASEBALL:
☆ TONS of trading going on… I seriously can’t keep up and only really pay attention to the Dodgers {cause of Cody Bellinger} and the Brewers {because I’m friends with the Yelich family} SOOOO you’ll have to look up all the trades on your own
BASKETBALL:
☆ Yeah, this I really don’t keep up with… I’ll have to get back to y’all…
Well, I hope this semi helped you guys out and you were able to gain SOME insight into what’s going on in the sports world. I know I have some more research of my own to do BUT I g2g now!! My family is about to head to Anaheim for an Anaheim Ducks hockey game {against the Las Vegas Knights}.
