Victoria's Secret

Writer's picture: Victoria DoderVictoria Doder

I don't even know where to begin other than the fact I DEFINITELY got my mama's hosting skills. Because I told y'all on Friday that I was going to have a lil Victoria's Secret Fashion Show watch party, you best believe that I did... AND I balled out!!

Let me just tell you, I went to the market at 11:00pm on Saturday, because I figured I would whip out some of the sweet treats so that I would have some free time on Sunday. First of all, I didn't even know markets were open that late {so thank you Tom Thumb} and second of all, I STILL had no free time on Sunday.

Saturday's prep consisted of putting lights on my mini Christmas tree, decorating it with ornaments, baking the funfetti cupcakes, baking the funfetti cookies, and ordering pink balloons. I was able to head to bed at 2:30 in the freakin morning just to realize that's when people leave bars and I probably stayed awake until 3:00 listening to a couple argue {aka yelling at the top of their lungs} with each other.

Sunday came in a blink of the eye and after I got a yummy brunch {and mimosa} I then began prepping some more. Sunday afternoon prep consisted of prepping the frose {here's the recipe} which takes a minimum of six hours, creating a makeshift couch out of my blowup mattress {which I'm questioning why I didn't just do that since I moved in}, making gluten free cupcakes, decorating my Christmas tree with some VS undies, stringing the rest of my Christmas lights around my apartment, and picking up the balloons.

Honestly -- I was pretty dang proud of myself and I had absolutely NO idea how much work went into lil parties {so thank you mama for everything you did for Nick and me growing up}.

THIS is what my apartment looked like!!

Now a tree isn't complete without some goodies SOOOO I treated my gals to some of my favorite haircare products by Fave4. Inside each of the pink bags was shampoo, conditioner, and then some styling cream. If y'all have never heard of the company {or used any of their products}, I HIGHLY recommend checking them out... Not to mention, their holiday gift packages are on sale right now!!

Also, theres no such thing as a party without food... The food {or the dog} at a party is ALWAYS what I look forward to. Plus, doesn't watching skinny models walking down a runway make you want to eat too?! Well, we had ALL the goods, and I would have to say the biggest hit of the night was my funfetti cookies, SO I'll be sure to include that recipe in here cause it's super easy.

FUNFETTI COOKIES:

☆ Preheat: oven to 375 degrees

☆ Mix: funfetti cake mix, 1/3 cup oil, 2 eggs

☆ Cook: 6-8 minutes

As for the fashion show though...

Is it just me OR did it seem a lot shorter than the previous years?! I could have sworn that the prior years had less performers {maybe two} but they performed A LOT more songs... This year I felt like each performer only did one song. Also, they used to show a ton of backstage interviews and moments that weren't included in this year's taping and the commercials have primarily been all VS related in the past {with an exclusive holiday preview one}... WHERE WAS ALL THAT?!

On another note though: I know what I want from Santa this year... A BODY LIKE A FREAKIN VICTORIA'S SECRET ANGEL!!

Also -- So sad that it was Adriana Lima's last year BUT DAYUMMMM she's hot... Especially considering she is 37 years old. Serious mom goals.

Let the countdown until next year's show begin... NOW!!

xoxo V

ps: If you noticed the change in the font color, I'm just trying to be cute and match the VS colors... It will be back to my normal blue on Wednesday!!
