Fall Scents

I don’t know about y’all BUT the transition from Fall to Winter is my ABSOLUTE favorite… Getting to wear beanies to hide my bed head, sippin on my hot chai lattes, movie marathons in my bed, burning candles like its my job, etc.

Monday I’ll be sure to spill on some of this seasons essentials, but right now I just wanna tingle one of your senses… SMELL!!

I grew up, waking up to the smell of winter {thanks mom… I think I’m an addict}. It would literally work as my alarm in the morning because I could NOT pass up the smell of what my mama was burning. I’m not talking about food, although if anybody knows me I’m ALWAYS hungry and food is ALWAYS a good idea; I’m talking about just a simple mix of some spices that are in my {and probably your} pantry.

My words to describe the scent: heavenly, spicy, cinnamon, yummy, Christmas, IN-FREAKIN-CREDIBLE!!

Guys… You LITERALLY only need SEVEN things {and that includes water and a pot}.

Now — There are no certain amounts that you need to use of each spice, that is 112% up to YOU!!

Are you ready?

Fill up your pot almost to the top with water. Now pull your spices out of the pantry {and you can leave out any of these that you want, I just like variety}.

SPICES I USE:

☆ cinnamon {this is what I use the most of}

☆ nutmeg

☆ ginger

☆ allspice {I probably use the second most of this}

☆ cloves

VIOLA!!

That is it… Just stir it up and turn your burner on low and once the pot begins to steam, your whole house // apartment will spell like a Winter Wonderland!!

WARNING: BE SURE TO NOT LET THE WATER RUN OUT BECAUSE YOUR SPICES WILL CATCH ON FIRE!!

{at least, that’s what my mama says… it has yet to happen to me, but knock on wood}

I made this lil mix yesterday and because I love the smell so freakin much and it reminds me of my childhood, I figured I would share it with y’all. Let me know what you think if you try it out {or if you live near me and just wanna enjoy the smell at my place, feel free to bring some Thai food, and I’ll provide the wine, Netflix, and smell}.

xoxo V
