Hello hello!!
I have decided to start posting more in the afternoon, and I am going to try my VERY BEST to now post at least three times a week because things are starting to pick up for me {hint: I am soooo excited but also it's starting to stress me out}!!
I don't want my blog to be the first thing you read in the morning because I know how sleepy eyes are... Trust me, I immediately would go on my phone after my alarm would go off and attempt to scroll through social media, yet I would somehow manage to fall back asleep. I want to be that blog you're reading through in the middle of the day.
Whether you are sneakily reading it at work without your boss catching you or you are just reading it during your lunch break... I want to be the pitstop between your hustle and fill up the white noise in your day. I want to fill the times you feel the need to catch up on social media, but not many people are posting.
If you're in Texas, expect my posts to be up by 1:00 pm. To my California babes, that's 11:00 am for you and to my East Coast hustlers, thats 2:00 pm for you... To everybody in different countries and on different continents that's what I use my phone's world clock app for.
NOW -- The main reasoning behind this post is to tell you "YOU CAN DO IT!"
I have had people ask me when I began blogging, and I typically give them a mixed answer. I posted my very first post almost three years ago BUT I wasn't consistent. I just recently began blogging consistently within the past couple of months.
When people ask me what made me want to blog I tell them that I originally started to fill in my family on my life. I was the first one in my immediate family to not attend USC, let alone go to a school that isn't in California. I don't get the opportunity to go home and see my family as much as I would like to and I am not always on my phone texting away {surprising, I know}. I wanted to keep my family up to date on my life so that they knew what kinda mischief I was getting myself into.
I still continue to post life updates which you will see intermittently in posts. I get stood up, I have dating disasters, I still enjoy my photography, I miss my pups back home, I still have my 9 to 5 job {or internship experience} in Dallas, and on top of that I will continue to post.
I started expanding and posting photos of food and people would ask me how I made certain things, and because I LOVE baking and cooking, I decided to incorporate food posts to all my foodies out there. Yes, I am supposed to be gluten free and dairy free {and some of you know the consequences if I do consume that shiz}, but sometimes I just can't help myself when I go out to eat some of the places you see pictured.

Also, going to school in Texas and not wearing the typical oversized sorority shirt with Lulu shorts and Nikes, people would make comments all the time about what I was wearing. I got some "That's an interesting choice in an outfit for class" comments and some "I love what you're wearing! Where is that from?" comments. I brought my beachy // boho style with me from California to Texas and I don't regret it one bit.
I LOVE to incorporate fashion into my posts and I love getting all of your feedback, and since so many people tend to ask me where I get things, I started to tag or link up websites just for your convenience. Shopping is one thing I do really well {you don't want to see my debit card statement and I recognize my future husband may need therapy from my retail therapy}.
When it comes to beauty {skincare and haircare}, UGH I just don't even know where to begin!! If you have EVER seen my house back in California or my apartment here in Texas, you would think I'm a product whore. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE hair products, skin products, make up {even though I don't wear it unless there's a special occasion}, etc. I just LOVE products, and I love sharing all my tips, tricks, and secrets with you. I have products that have just been sitting in my cabinets for months and have never touched because I test out a lot and find my favorites. My favorites are what I share with y'all, and I promise to NEVER EVER EVER lie about a product I don't like!! I am also open to any and all recommendations if you feel like sending me a lil email.
Now -- Some of y'all have also reached out to me asking me "How do you do it?"
I can do it, and I do do it, because I love it. I will wake up around 7 in the morning and make myself a breakfast {typically egg whites and avocado or a smoothie or fruit} and then I will do my morning skincare routine before I hop into my work clothes. I set out my clothes and prep my next day's lunch at night so that it's two less things to worry about and I am on my way to the office by 7:50 am. My commute can take up to an hour and I usually will work until noon or 1 pm, when I will then take my lunch break. During my lunch break I will catch up on social media {sometimes}, work on content for my blog {always}, or even give a quick call back home. After my 30 minute lunch break I am back to working until 5:00 or 5:30 pm {depending on the day}. I get back to my apartment around 6:30 in the evening, change into workout clothes and hit up the gym or Corepower Yoga just down the street. By 9:00 pm I eat, I shower, I take out my contacts and put on my nerdy glasses, and I curl up into my big bowl chair with a cup of chai tea {or chia seed pudding for dessert} and I work on my blog for a couple of hours.
If you want to start your own blog, I say "DO IT!!" You can do it if you really want to but if you're not going to put the effort into it, then I wouldn't bother. It has just recently hit me how hard it is to manage time and everything that is getting thrown at me and although it's a load of stress, I LOVE IT.
Life update time: I don't even know where to begin BUT I have a ton of fun things that I am excited to share with you!! I am on the search for a new job in Fort worth for my semester and for post grad {potentially in Santa Monica, San Diego, or New York}, I have some products that I am excited to post about {once I create some content for yah}, I have some fun travels planned that will ultimately be posted on my travel blog {but I'll post lil snippets about them on here for you too}, etc.
You make time for the things you want to... On top of my work, my blogging, and errands I had to run on Wednesday, I managed to even make time for a BRIDAL PHOTOSHOOT!! I didn't get back to my apartment until after 10:00 pm and I still had to eat {t goodness for Fuzzys and Favor}. Hopefully the photos and video will be released soon so that I can share that experience with you and if you follow me on social media, I hope you enjoyed the BTS moments!! If you didn't follow along for that shoot or if you're interested in seeing more from the shoot, try checking back in on Monday because that may be the day {don't mark my words though hehe} we get the photos and if they aren't released by then, I'll be sure to post about something else.
Thank you all for supporting me doing something I love and I PROMISE to have a photo // video tour of my apartment posted by the end of next week!!
xoxo V
