Summer in San Diego

It’s so funny because whenever I find myself “getting away” from the little Westlake Village bubble, I always wind up in sunny San Diego. Although we got a late start on Thursday night, we eventually made it by midnight. Then, on Friday, while the boys {meaning my bro and dad} were shaping their surfboards for a few hours, my mama and I went to Fashion Valley to do some back to school shopping, before I head back to Texas. We found some SUPER CUTE thanggssss and a TON of things were on sale {SCOREEEE}. Once we were finished {at least for that day}, we headed to La Jolla where we met the rest of the fambam, and my great aunt, Honey for dinner at Piatti.

Day two, however, I would have to say was the most fun and most exciting. Yeah, we got a semi late start, BUT we walked around the Gaslamp District where we found a delicious cafe to eat some brunch. After we had eaten and walked around a little bit more, we headed back to the room to get put together and head to the zoo. I cannot tell you how amazing it was going back to the zoo… I feel like it’s been FOREVER!! We were there from around 3:30 until closing, and it was so neat because almost ALL of the animals were active. We got to feed some giraffes, walk around the zoo and most importantly, spend some quality time as a family. After the long day at the zoo, we headed back to the hotel, where we parked our car so that we were able to walk to dinner in the Gaslamp District.

I canNOT believe that my summer is nearing an end, and that I have to leave to go back to school in LESS THAN A WEEK!! It seems sooooo bittersweet to me and I just wish I can extend my summer at least a couple more weeks. I have made so many amazing friends this summer and made soooo many amazing memories that will last forever. Let the countdown until Texas begin!! SIX DAYS!!
