Spring Breakin in Miami

CHEERS TO ONE OF THE BEST TIMES that I NEVER wanna have again!!

Let’s just say that a Miami spring break is one for the books, and I am in absolutely no rush to return. To say the least, before we left, we were worried that five days {out of the ten days we could have been traveling} was not going to be enough time, but BOY were we wrong!!

We boarded our plane EXTREMELY early on Tuesday morning in our matching spring break shirts and sweatshirts {and got a ton of stares} and were Miami bound. When we finally arrived, our plan was originally to check into the SLS Hotel and sneak three of us into the hotel room I booked for two {working the system to save money} and go out to explore and get food.

What ACTUALLY happened: we checked into the hotel, we unpacked and organized our stuff, we walked to the main shopping strip, we ate some salad in attempt to be skinny for the days the lied ahead in bikinis, and we went back to the hotel and took a nap until Natasha arrived {in which we woke up to let her into the hotel room and then we called it a night}.

The next morning we headed to a restaurant that was one of the top ranked places on Yelp, and it did NOT disappoint. We spent the majority of the day at the beach, walked around for a little bit, at dinner at some chain restaurant {that I’m blanking on for some reason}, and then went on a bike ride along the beach. Spring break was off to a nice and relaxing start and there were absolutely NO complaints.

Following our nice evening, we went out that night to a place that is apparently “famous” in Cabo called Señor Frogs and THAT is when our spring break started getting freaky… But you will just have to wait and read how the events progressed…

In the morning, Natasha and I decided to go on a bike ride and continuously kept getting asked to be extras in a photoshoot and video. After saying no a BAJILLION times, we finally just said yes so that the people would stop bugging us. Once we were all positioned up, out walked ASHLEY GRAHAM!! Really, I didn't know much about her but she was so spunky and sweet, and I also now know how freakin annoying paparazzis can be.

When we got back to the hotel, we met up with Tatiana and Katie and grabbed brunch before heading to the beach. After a few hours and once we felt nice and burnt, we packed up and got ready for the evening. Again, while we planned to have a mellow night and just go to the Museum of Ice Cream, it turned into a wild adventure. The Museum of Ice Cream was with the Instagram photos {and stomach issues}, but by the time we reached the last exhibit we were ready for dinner.

Again we used Yelp as our resource, but as we were getting to the restaurant, which happened to be located in a hostel, a couple came out telling us how “creepy” it was and warned us not to go in unless we want to be kidnapped. Now don't get me wrong, I love food and I typically trust Yelp reviews; however, the couple freaked us all out, so we joined them on their journey to find food. Long story short, the two of them had been married for a couple of years, each previously divorced, and always going on cruises and vacations to Miami together.

Being that we all had empty stomachs, except for what we indulged in at the museum, our priority was food; but, theres was something different… SHOTS!! They began buying us rounds on round on ROUNDS of shots as we bopped from restaurant to hotel to restaurant. Once we made it to their hotel, the guy decided to call it a night but the wife wanted to join us for our GNO {Girls Night Out}, so we Ubered back to our place and got dressed and headed to Señor Frogs once more. Again, rounds of shots were continuously being ordered, so much so, I began passing out whatever drinks were being handed to me to the people who were surrounding me. Natasha called it an early night because she had a flight back to Texas, Katie and Tatiana headed back to the hotel, and I Ubered back the party wifey to her hotel {cause alcohol intake had reached an all time extreme and I don't think she has had a GNO for a lonnnnnggggg while}.

The next morning Katie, Tati, and I decided to have a VERY low key day. We headed to a place down the street called Bacon Bitch for breakfast and then headed back to our hotel to get in our kinis for the day. Although we didn't make it to the beach, we laid by the pool the entirety of the day. As we kept getting in and out of the water to cool us down from the Miami sun, there were a couple of guys that kept trying to get our attention and we began talking to them.

Again, they both seemed so friendly and they invited us to dinner with their friends for one of their birthdays, so we didn't decline. After getting our daily dose of sun for the day, Katie, Tatiana, and myself headed upstairs to shower and get ready for the night. We all met up in the lobby around 8:30 pm and then headed downtown with the group. The restaurant we wound up as was absolutely incredible and some of the best Asian food I have ever had… We even saw Jonathan, the Food God. Following dinner, a big group of them were headed to a strip club downtown to meet up with one of their clients {Pitbull}, so we loaded up in an Uber with two of them and headed back to the hotel with a plan to meet them at Hyde Beach the next morning // afternoon for the St. Patrick’s Day pool party.

In the morning, we got into our green bathing suits {yah know… so we wouldn’t get pinched, headed down the shopping strip, and treated ourselves to a pitcher of mimosas and a hardy breakfast in preparation for the day festivities we had in front of us. For HOURS we were at Hyde Beach {and I think my only comparison to it would be Vegas… but worse}. Blaring music, air horns being blown every fifteen minutes when somebody got bottle service, smoke machines, and a pool that was so gross that by the end you couldn't even see the bottom. Oh, and did I mention that some drunk girl almost tried to fight me?! Yeah, that was just one of TWO instances of spring break some girl threatened to fight me… BUT that’s a story for another time.

For another night in a row, the guys asked us to dinner and Tati and I took them up on it while Katie continued nap time, as we had all fallen into a deep sleep for a couple of hours in hopes of some relaxation and rejuvenation. We wound up just going to Katsuya which was located in our hotel AND I TRIED MY FIRST PIECE OF FISH {I think it was ahi ahi?} and I MAY have actually kinda liked it {drenched in soy sauce}. Following dinner, we hung out by the bar just sipping on a glass of wine and then managed to make our way out to some club a few streets away. After just sitting in some VIP booth for maybe about an hour or two, Tatiana and I called it a night and joined Katie back in bed.

On our last day, we spend the ENTIRE time on the beach until it was time to shower, pack our bags so that we could leave early in the morning, and then we met up with Nicolette for dinner… BEST PIZZA EVER!! It was such a soothing night and we were able to get home early enough to drench ourselves in aloe vera and head to bed.

Honestly, Miami overall was such a fun time!! The people watching was incredible, the food was amazing {shoutout to Jeff and Michael for a few recommendations}, the beach’s ocean was beautiful, and it was full of some unforgettable nights. Thank you mom and dad for giving me the world and allowing me to experience my last “hoo-rah” of college!! Until the next adventure, feel free to check out my personal blog.
